Caramel Apple Crisp
This is without a doubt the best apple crisp I have ever made. It is phenomenal!
Filling
6 apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1/2 cup sugar
1 T flour
1/2 t cinnamon
1 T fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup water
Caramel Sauce
1 cup homemade caramel
1/4 cup half and half
Topping
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup quick cook oats
1 cup butter, softened
Spray a 9x13" baking pan generously with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, toss apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, lemon juice and water; pour evenly into prepared pan.
In a small pan over low heat, heat caramel with half and half, stirring frequently, til smooth. Drizzle sauce over apples.
Preheat oven to 350°.
In a large bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, oats, and butter; spoon mixture evenly over the top.
Bake 45 minutes or tll bubbly and topping is golden brown.
I served mine plain but Matt likes a scoop of vanilla ice cream on his.
