Peas and Greens
I need all the good luck I can get this year. And I also need something that prevents me from forgetting everything. I never realized I hadn't even posted this recipe from yesterday yet.
The black eyed pea recipe is adapted from this one that I posted the other day: http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?memberId=65560&articleId=281474977549328&nav=MyGather.
I made the following changes to the original:
1) I added diced smoked ham
2) I added chicken broth to make it more soupy
3) I added fresh garlic
4) I did NOT use rice or cheese
My greens were cooked several hours with chopped bacon, cider vinegar and lots of hot sauce.
While a simple meal, it was very flavorful.
