Pasta with Italian Sausage and Broccoli Rabe

Roasting the rabe and sausage gave this dish the most incredible flavor!

1 lb sweet Italian sausage
1 bunch broccoli rabe, trimmed of stems and torn into pieces
1/4 cup white wine
4 cloves garlic, chopped
olive oil
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/2 lb pasta, cooked and 1/4 cup cooking water reserved (I used cavatappi)
1 small tomato, diced (optional)
Italian blend cheese

Preheat oven to 350°.

Remove sausage from casings and dollop into a 9x13" baking pan. Top sausage with prepared rabe. Pour wine over the top. Sprinkle with garlic and drizzle with olive oil. Add salt and pepper.

Cover pan with foil and bake 1 hour.

Return cooked pasta to cooking pot and toss with sausage mixture. Add water if mixture seems dry.

I served the pasta with diced tomato and sprinkled with cheese. Absolutely first rate meal!
