Smoky Pepper Burgers
Served on homemade onion buns of course! These burgers were Shantastic!
1 egg
3-4 jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 T Worcestershire sauce
2 t ground cumin
1 t mustard powder
1 t smoked paprika
1/2 t chili powder
1/4 t kosher salt
1 1/2 lb ground beef
sliced pepper jack cheese
hamburger buns, toasted (I used homemade onion buns)
Mix the egg, jalapenos and garlic in a large mixing bowl til the egg is well blended. Add Worcestershire sauce, cumin, mustard, paprika, chili powder, salt, and beef; mix well and form into 4 equal size patties. Poke a hole in the center of each pattie.
Preheat grill on medium high heat.
Cook the burgers til no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 5 minutes per side. Top with cheese during last minute or so.
I served burgers on the buns with homemade verde sauce (using my fresh tomatillos) and a cucumber salad with my cukes.
